Jennifer Le

President

The role of the President is to act as a representative and spokesperson of the Vietnamese Student Association as a whole, authorize and approve things for the best interest of the organization, delegate tasks and responsibilities for all officers, oversee all organizational activity, and maintain a relationship with AASU and MAUVSA.

Yusuf Ahmed

Internal Vice President

The Vice President of the Vietnamese Student Association implements and is in charge of the Big and Little System along with the House system. The VP also oversees service oppportunities, connects with other communities both domestically and internationally, and provides additional support for the other officer positions.

Melanie Do

External Vice President

The External Vice President is the representative of Virgina Tech at monthly MAUVSA meetings with the VSA organizations from other schools and maintains good relations with the other schools. He/she attends other schools' VSA events and also is in charge of arranging housing/transportation between schools.

Jeanie Lam

Secretary

The VSA Secretary is in charge of taking attendance for officers during officer meetings, events and general meetings. He or she also sends out listserv emails to those on the mailing list about upcoming events and club information, take down minutes during the officer meetings, and update the master calendar for the officers and for the general members.

Timothy Nguyen

Treasurer

The treasurer keeps track of cash and debit accounts, maintains a relationship with budget board in order to request funding for all cultural events, keeps an ongoing list of all paid VSA members, and reimburses officers for any extraneous VSA-related purchases.

Public Relations

The public relations officer has the responsibilities of creating (most) facebook events in a timely manner, designing VSA@VT promotional media, and designing culture show promotions (such as the display case, squires' banner, pamphlets,poster, etc). He or she must also be able to use photo editing software.

Event Coordinator

Event Coordinators plan events that promote bonding experiences in VSA, book and coordinate with venues around the community, create necessary Facebook events and spreadsheets to organize rides, purchase supplies needed for events (with treasurer).

The Sports Coordinators are in charge of the Sports program within VSA. They organize teams and practices,sign up for intramural sports and tournaments, order jerseys and lax pinnies, organize field days, and most importantly, bring home CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Major fundraisers are: Summer Car Washes, Pho Night (Fall and Spring), Gift Wrapping (Winter), Chipotle, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Benny's Pizza.

The role of a historian is to make videos, such as short videos (videos for certain meetings that relate to the theme of the general meeting), promotional videos (optional, create short videos to advertise VSA events and to get the word out), update the VSA page on Facebook with photos, videos, and updates on VSA events. The historians also make a tri-fold for Gobblerfest, and create an end-of-the-year scrapbook to summarize the events of the year.
